CARE AND MANAGEMENT - Apart from
the special education schools and vocational
training centres, Maithree also has a Care
and Management Centre for persons with profound
mental retardation to help them maintain
their abilities.
MAITHREE’S CARING CENTRE
OBJECTIVE: To create
a facility for the care and management of
persons with profound mental retardation.
The need: A need was felt to create the
facility for the persons with profound mental
retardation after their school training
programme to maintain their abilities.
PROCESS: A team of experts
will identify the abilities of the persons
with profound mental retardation by an informal
assessment. After which a suitable programme
is drawn. The programme consists of Physiotherapy,
Occupational therapy, Facilitating communication
skills &self help skills and recreational
activities. |
